It’s a kooky scheme, but it might just work.
On Thursday night Jimmy Kimmel mocked President Donald Trump’s “inexplicable battle with Puerto Rico” which the president aired over his prolific Twitter account.
Kimmel isn’t the first to observe that Trump’s habit of sending off strings of angry tweets in the wee hours of the morning is politically dangerous. But Kimmel is a man with a plan.
The solution is beautiful in its simplicity: fidget spinners. Kimmel encouraged his audience to send the toys to Trump’s address at the White House (or failing that the Mar-a-Lago golf club) to try and prevent the president from any rash Twitter-rants through the power of distraction.
Of course Kimmel recognises that this might require his viewers to take the spinners off their children, but as he points out “sorry kids, your country needs these.”
